Interrupting Trackside mode with other features
Trackside mode sends simple control commands to your lights. In that sense, it is not particularly different from just using the app to change the color of the lights. As such, Trackside mode light effects can be interrupted by other features, such as rythms, schedules, response to motion sensors...
For the best experience, we advise you to disable automation features in the room for the duration of the race.
Delay risks
Depending on the service you use to watch the race, you may receive the video stream with more or less delay after the live action has happened on the racetrack.
If you receive the video stream really quickly, then your lights might exhibit a few seconds of delay before they follow what you see on screen.
If you receive the video stream with some delay (most common case), then your lights may actually display the events before you see them on screen.
In the future, we plan to let you set an optional delay so you can adjust the effects to your broadcast service.
Conflicting information from race control
To send the right messages to your lights, we rely on the information being published about the race. If for some reason this information is not correct, or conflicting (e.g. a red flag posted at the same time as a green flag), your lights may display something incorrect for a little while.
Turning on Trackside mode after the race has already started
Turning on the feature after the race has already started may make it more difficult for your lights to show the right light effects, since some of the messages from the beginning of the race will have been missed.
Missing race events
We do our best to provide you with accurate and timely information. However, it is possible that some events may occasionally fail to appear on your lights. We will gradually improve the reliability of the service.
