Trackside mode being a Cloud-based feature, we are able to deliver regular updates and changes without forcing anyone to update their app. 🙂

Please find below the list of changes we made to the feature.

28 January 2025 (app version 1.23.5)

  • New feature: session selection. You can now select the sessions during which you want the lights to react. By default, it will be races and Sprint races. But you can now also add free practice sessions and qualifying!
  • New feature: customizable delay. Tired of having the lights react several seconds before your TV shows the action? We heard you, and you can now add a customizable delay to Trackside mode, so that your lights are in better sync with your video stream.
  • Improvement: we have removed lights effects related to the fastest lap, since it does not grant championship points anymore in 2025.
  • Improvement: nicer UI. We have revamped the interface a little bit. We hope you like the new look!

20 September 2024

  • Bug fix: we made a change that will prevent the lights from remaining stuck in orange after a car retirement event
  • Bug fix: we made a change to resolve a problem where the green flags were not displayed, or only for a very short time. As a consequence, you may see a few more green flags throughout the race (whenever a marshal post waves a yellow flag, even for a few seconds, the green flag that follows will be shown)
  • New feature: we added a visual indication for the formation lap. Your lights should now gently pulse between the start of the formation lap and the race start

25 July 2024

  • Bug fix: we resolved an issue where the "wet track" light effect would not always be displayed, despite drivers bolting on intermediate or wet tires.
  • Improvement: better tracking of yellow flags per sector
  • Improvement: we added a 5s delay to all light effects in order to better synchronize with most TV streams. This is a temporary change while we work on a fully customizable solution to help you get the perfect experience with your own timing setting.
